Haitian journalist Pierre Rene Rene spoke out recently about what terrible condition Bicentenaire in Port-au-Prince has become, how dirty it is now and how much trash is piled up in the area.

The journalist spoke especially about the area near the Haitian Parliament which has not become a big marché

“I have never been this shocked in my life to see how this area is literally finished,” the Haitain journalist said.

“As a journalist, we are always talking about how bad things are in that area but to see it first-hand, to go down there and witness what Bicentenaire has become, it saddens me,” he continued.

The journalist said he was even more shocked to realize that there is a big marché right in front of the gates to enter the Haitian Parliament building.

“To know what this place was once and to see what it is now, it is shocking,” he said. “There’s no other way to describe it.”

“This place (Bicentenaire in Haiti) was so beautiful at one point that other countries copied the idea and used it to better their country. We are putting ours to shame.”
